The Differences Between Bed Bugs And Dust Mites

Bed bugs and dust mites, at first fleeting look, you could really say that they are the same.  Physically when you give them a glance, you could cry out that you are just looking on one similar insect.  But you would just think so if you just look at them with your naked eye for a second or two.  On the other hand, if you closely look at them for few minutes and try to exert effort to study the difference between bed bugs and dust mites, you could attest to the fact that they are indeed two dissimilar pests.

The difference between bed bugs and dust mites are the number of legs they have – that would be the first thing that comes to mind.  Bed bugs have only just six legs while the dust mites hold eight of them.  Their body forms as well contribute on making those bed bugs be at variance from those dust mites since the first ones have flat, rounded shape and would only tubby after feeding themselves blood from any warm-blooded mammals; while the latter, the dust mites’ body shape is full rounded and feed themselves only with skin scales.

Bed bugs do have antennas that are really in contrast with dust mites that do not have even one.  Another important difference these pests have is that bed bugs are very visible to human’s naked eyes while the dust mites have semi-transparent bodies making them so hard to be seen.  In addition to all said, dust mites are carriers of allergies.  In fact, dust mite allergy is very common to almost all people when you are able to breathe in their excrement while the bed bugs are assumed not to be that germ-spreading parasite.

Though in a quick look you could not identify the difference between bed bugs and dust mites, which could cause you allergies for example and which would not, you should at all times observe cleanliness.  As much as possible, you should do proper safety measures beforehand so you would not obtain either of the two.  Remember that these are pests, so basically these would all give you hassles at home or anywhere you are.  Though they have differences, still they are the same in nature that they are parasites that would make your bodies their ultimate hosts almost certainly – and you would not want that, would you? That’s no way.
